The Adirondack Marathon Distance Festival provides opportunities for both four-person and two-person relays, allowing participants to enjoy the thrill of running and sharing the experience with their team.

RACE DETAILS

FOUR-PERSON RELAY

The first leg runner starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Marathon Start Line in Schroon Lake. Teams meet at TOPS Supermarket at 8:15 a.m. 2nd Leg Runner bus departs 8:40 am at TOPS. 3rd Leg Runners use Half Marathon bus departing from 8:40-9:05 am. 4th Leg Runner bus departs at 10:00 am from TOPS.

Note: 4-person relay transition areas are located at approximately miles 4.4, 13.1 & 18.2. The approximate length of each leg: First – 4.4 miles; Second – 8.7 miles; Third – 5.1 miles and Fourth – 8 miles.

TWO-PERSON RELAY

The first leg runner starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Marathon Start Line in Schroon Lake. 2nd Leg Runners use Half Marathon bus departing from 8:40-9:05 am to Half Marathon Start Line in Adirondack.

PACKET PICKUP

SUNDAY, sept 22, 2024| 6:30AM - 8:15AM

SATURDAY, SEPT 21, 2024 | 11AM - 6PM

Relay teams must check-in together as a complete team to obtain their race packet, no exceptions. The race expo and packet pickup will be located at the pavilion above the Marathon finish line. Changes to registrations may be done during Saturday’s packet pickup hours only. No changes can be made to registrations during Sunday’s packet pickup hours.

AID STATIONS

Water and sports drink will be available at 9 stations on the course–roughly every two miles until 20, then every mile from 20-25. Water, sports drink, fresh fruit, yogurt, ice cream, fresh baked goods and more will be available at the finish area.

RACE GEAR

Relay runners should give their gear bag to their teammate at the transition..

AWARDS

Each runner who completes the course will receive a medal. Awards will be given to top 3 Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed groups.

RULES

  • You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenges of your race.

  • You must show a photo ID to pick up your bib and chip.

  • Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE.

  • Participants must be at least 16 years old on race day to participate in the Marathon. A parent’s signature is required for all participants under 18 years old.

  • A bib is required to participate and must be visible at all times.

  • Coaches, dogs, in-line skates, skateboards, bikes, baby joggers, and BANDITS will not be allowed on the course.

  • For safety reasons, we strongly recommend against the use of headphones or earbuds of any type.

  • All runners must stay to the right of the center line when on Route 9.

  • We will keep the finish line open and record official times for 6.5 hours (until 3:30 pm). However, all roads will re-open to cars at 2:30 p.m. and there will be no on-course services after that time.

  • All runners must run over all timing mats on the course. Timing mats will be located at the start, miles 4.4, 13.1, 18.2, 25, and the finish line.

Timing services provided by Granite State Race Services, utilizing the ChronoTrack disposable timing chip on the back of your race bib.

Official race photography will be provided by Pat Hendrick Photography, who specializes in athletic event photos in Upstate New York, Vermont, and beyond. Prints and digital files will be available for purchase after the race at Pat Hendrick (zenfolio.com).
