5-K, 10-K, & Kids Fun Run

5-K and 10-K Race Details:
Date: Saturday, September 27, 2014

Start: 9:30 a.m. at the Town Hall on Rt. 9 in Chestertown.
Course: Both races are run on paved streets through the heart of the village.

2014 Entry Fees:
5-K: adults $15; students under 18, $13; seniors 65+, $12
10-K: adults $17; students under 18, $15; seniors 65+, $14

Packet Pick-Up:
Packet pick-up for the 5- and 10-K races will be at the Municipal Center on Rt. 9 in Chestertown on Friday night, September 26 from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday morning, September 27, from 7-8:30 a.m.

Baggage:
Bag check will at the municipal center for warm-up gear.

On-Course Amenities:
There are two water stations on course, plus bottled water available pre- and post-race. Food and drink is available near the finish line.

Photos:
Official race photography will be provided by Pat Hendrick Photography, who specializes in athletic event photos in Upstate New York, Vermont, and beyond. Prints and digital files will be available for purchase after the race at pathendrickphotography.com.

The Helpers Fund:
The 5K & 10K Races are organized by The Helpers Fund.
Helping individuals and families deal with catastrophic circumstances is the primary goal of the Helpers Fund. When these circumstances occur, usually without warning and without a chance of preparation, the individuals and families have great difficulty in dealing with them.

The Fund operates in the Tri-Lakes Area, which includes the towns of Schroon Lake, Olmstedville, Adirondack, Pottersville, Brant Lake, North Creek and Chestertown. The Fund has acted upon requests for help from people living as far north as Plattsburgh and Lake Placid, and as far south as Saratoga Springs and South Glens Falls. All requests for help, regardless of the geographical area, are given equal consideration. The Fund is incorporated under the laws of New York State and is permanently certified as a 501(c)3 Charity under the Internal Revenue Service’s Regulations governing charities. The Fund’s financial statements are available upon request.

1-K Children’s Fun Run:
Date: Saturday, September 27, 2014
Start: 2 p.m. at the Adirondack Marathon finish line in Schroon Lake.
Course: The children’s race makes a loop through the scenic town of Schroon Lake, starting and ending at the Adirondack Marathon finish line.
Ages: For runners ages 4-12.
Awards: All runners receive a free t-shirt and finisher’s medal.
Entry Fee: $10 per runner
